We Created an Engaging Slider for a Singaporean Sushi Website

September 2, 2025

Designing websites for restaurants always comes with the same challenge: how do you make food feel alive on a screen? How do we make it more engaging for our consumers?

Hanabisg Website design

For a Singapore-based sushi brand, We wanted to bridge that gap. The idea came from the sushi conveyor belt. You know? The one you would see at some fancy Sushi Restaurants that would have sushi dishes rotating around the dining table? What if we could bring that playful, continuous motion into the website?

Our Goal:

The Idea

So, we built a sliding sushi feature. Dishes glide across the screen, one after another, just as they would on a conveyor belt. Each item is clearly visible, the motion smooth and deliberate.

What excites me about this design is how it blends functionality with storytelling. Visitors don’t just read about the menu, they see it in motion. It keeps them engaged longer, sparks curiosity, and makes browsing feel less like reading and more like watching.

A simple detail, if it connects to the brand’s culture, can transform the user journey into something authentic and fun.

Our Result

To date, our client is still uploading dishes for their store but you can see it live here: Hanabi Singapore

Visitors can watch dishes glide across the screen, with each item clearly displayed. The feature is both visual and functional. It highlights the menu creatively and makes browsing the site more enjoyable.
