When I started working more seriously with websites, one thing became very clear to me. Being able to design a website is useful, but being able to take a project from idea to launch is much more valuable. This matters even more in Myanmar. Most local clients are not looking to spend US$5,000 or US$10,000 on a website where one person handles UI/UX, another person develops it, another person manages SEO, and someone else coordinates the whole project. For many Myanmar businesses, that level of budget simply is not realistic yet. Because of that, a web designer or developer who can handle more of the project end to end has a huge advantage. If you can understand the client, plan the website, design it, build it in WordPress, make it responsive, set up basic SEO, and launch it properly, you become much easier to hire. WordPress makes this possible without needing to build every website from scratch.

Another reason I think Myanmar web developers should learn WordPress is because the website market here is still very young. Awareness around professional websites, SEO, conversion focused design, and even why a business needs a proper website is still developing. At the same time, there has been a big increase in people learning web development, UI/UX, coding, and freelance skills. In my view, there are currently more people trying to become web developers than the local market immediately needs. I do not say this to discourage anyone. It is simply important to understand the situation realistically. Learning only one narrow skill makes it harder to compete. Being able to offer a more complete solution makes you much more useful. Instead of saying I can only design the website, you can say I can help plan, design, build, launch, and maintain it. That difference can matter a lot when a client is comparing several freelancers.
This is also why I think WordPress and Elementor are useful starting points. You can build company websites, landing pages, portfolios, blogs, service websites, and ecommerce websites without needing a large development team. You still need to understand good design, responsive layouts, spacing, user experience, website structure, performance, and basic SEO. WordPress does not replace those skills. It simply gives you a practical way to turn them into a finished product faster. It can also help you work with clients outside Myanmar, where demand and budgets can be much larger.
